I came across this talk by Nigel Marsh about work-life balance and how it’s not dramatic change, upheaval and radical re-thinking, but rather the little things in life that help you achieve your ideal work-life balance.

These are the videos that have caught my eye and my heart this week. They’re awesome in many ways and well worth watching! Anis Mojgani is a truly inspirational spoken word poet. A ferrofluid is a made up of nanoscale ferrous particles suspended in a carrier fluid such as an oil or even water. They behave in a similar fashion to non-Newtonian fluids in the sense that you can do some rather funky stuff with them. Kev from Spinning@ kindly donated some more music to my repository of ‘things I listen to when I do stuff’. It’s fairly extensive. The genre in question is Electro Swing. A friend introduced me to this rather awesome band whose only instrument is the drums. They do covers of popular metal songs. Watch this one first to get an idea for what the song’s like: Then take a look at the Van Canto cover: Pure awesome, I think you’ll agree!

Today’s xkcd captures ISP tech support perfectly. Except Virgin Media. Those guys seem to actually be able to deviate from the script and realise I know what I’m talking about when I walk the tech through all the steps that I’ve tried.
